As a licensed clinical therapist and masters level recreational specialist, my expertise in psychotherapy has been built over the course of two decades working with adolescents, adults, and families. Whether supporting adolescents as they undergo a difficult life transition or mediating conflict among adults and families, my services are designed to help individuals navigate the complexities that often come with an array of emotions and challenging life situations.
My primary objective is to help individuals and families to move forward following various types of crises. This generally requires the development of insight and understanding in order to process one’s internal experience, and implement specific plans of action that can enable clients to maximize their potential moving forward.
My background includes work as a licensed therapist, case manager, and supervisor, serving as a professional intermediary with schools and school districts, with a commitment to advocating for those in need.
I have training in a range of treatment approaches and interventions, with specialization in crisis management and relational psychology. I have diversified my professional experience through work in a variety of settings including mental health treatment facilities and hospital psychiatric units. My career includes experience as a university level Field Instructor for Southern Connecticut State University and Iona College’s School of Social Work, in addition to Senior Youth Family Development Specialist and Rehabilitation Specialist at multiple treatment facilities. I have most recently served as Associate Director at a premier residential treatment center.
As an expert in residential treatment, program development, adventure-based therapy, and crisis management, my work has encompassed the leadership of a variety of professional training programs, and the delivery of professional presentations at various workshops over the span of a decade. This multi-faceted background has provided a unique perspective and clinical sophistication, which permeate my practice.
I believe that my practice is fundamentally unique because my work is informed by my own life experiences, diverse interests, and distinct passions. I am a high-energy, enthusiastic individual, certified interior firefighter, and skilled adventure-based therapist. My professional expertise and intuition have led me to develop a history of successful treatment of clinically complex individuals and families.
Most importantly, the mission of my practice is to help people discover emotional balance and sustained happiness. My own fulfillment parallels the success of my clients.
